Is it really? Over the top? Do people really realize what they are eating? Sometimes I wonder if all the pesticides and toxins in our food had color to show themselves, if we would touch most of the things we eat. If we could see or taste the bleach on chicken breast, or taste and see the pesticides on our fruit or see the toxins that are created when we cooked our food.

I'm not so sure it's over the top. I think the high rate of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and many other diseases in our country and other countries who eat like we do is OVER THE TOP! I think being able to give 2 year olds cholesterol drugs now is over the top. I think what food companies get away with putting in food is over the top and I think our uneducated, rose colored glasses to our food b/c of our attachment to them is over to top. But that is just my opinion...

I am not opposed to vaccines in general. The vaccine that innoculates against polio is particularly helpful. I think the danger is in the toxicity of combining so many vaccines and their preservatives. All of my children are vaccinated, but I am noticing more and more vaccines are being required. I saw a couple on the news with their daughter who had NINE shots in one doctor visit and immediately went downhill. She has autism. What doctor/nurse would do NINE shots? They said that she missed a set and was catching up. That is definitely a toxicity issue. I have been concerned about autism with my youngest son since he was born. He didn't make eye contact and showed early signs. I decided not to give him the MMR or varicella vaccines at 12 months (or 15 months). I told the doctor that I am going to wait until he is 2 or 3 and space his shots out. I don't see why babies needs to be jam-packed with all these shots while they are so young. I also delayed the hepatitis shot they usually give at the hospital by a few months. I told my doctor that my plan is to give my children the required shots - I just want to spread them out and wait until they are older. I don't mind coming in for extra visits. The only downside with that is that the kids know what is happening and fight more. Anyways, that is my opinion.

This is the vaccine that caught my attention and caused me to re-evaluate vaccines in general. And the fact that Rick Perry signed into law in Texas that this is mandatory (has it been repealed yet?) What that does is mean that the government (or we the people) will likely pay for many of the shots given to lower-income girls.

I picked up a pamphlet about this in the doctor office. It has pages and pages that encourage you as a parent to protect your daughter with this shot. Only one one little page does it mention that it prevents a disease caused by an STD. I didn't even notice that it requires 3 shots. No way would any of my daughters get near this shot.

I'm not opposed to a birth with a doctor. My problems arise with all the unnecessary interventions (not the necessary ones). I've had these at my last 2 births and some of them were heartbreaking!

Ya know what, think about it, Tatum is gorgeous, happy, intelligent and wonderful. A c-section did NOT affect her negatively. I have two happy, beautfiul kids after c-sections. Sometimes no matter what you do those babies just can't find their way down, and it doesnt make you less of a mother. C-section is a blessing, pioneer women who didn't have that technology died and their babies died. YOu are an awesome mom January! Could I get invited to view your family blog? I love to see your cute kids..

yeah...i remember the one at Trents birth treated you pretty much like crap... the OB and the pedi. I was like "DANG, you people are mean here!" I also remember thinking I didnt want that one nurse to change Trent because she was kind of rough and smelled like cigarettes. It wasnt the nicest experience for me (to see the way they treated you), so I cant even imagine how you would feel about it.
